Summer Activities and Attractions in Blue Mountain and Collingwood

Don’t limit yourself to touring by car during your Blue Mountain summer vacation — there are so many more exciting ways to explore! Hundreds of kilometers of trails, exhilarating Georgian Bay waters and clear blue skies are waiting to give you the summer adventure of a lifetime. 
 
ROAD CYCLING AND MOUNTAIN BIKING
 
Blue Mountain has become a cycling mecca.  The Georgian Trail is well-Known as an ideal biking trails running from Collingwood to Meafor, 32 km in total.  For the avid mountain biker, take a scenic gondola ride up Blue Mountain and then test your skills as you fire down the marked trails.  The rolling hills and great views in and around Collingwood, the Pretty River valley and the Beaver Valley make for energetic and wonderfully scenic rides along diverse landscapes. 
 
BEACHES OF BLUE MOUNTAIN
 
Sand and shale beaches line the shores of Georgian Bay -  Northwinds Beach in Craigleith, Christie Beach, Council Beach and Peasmarsh Beach are all minutes from Blue Mountain.  The perfect place to capture a breathtaking sunset or simply toss a rock into the still waters is  Sunset Point Park in Collingwood, a unique park perfect for families to commune on a summer day.  
 
CANOEING AND KAYAKING
 
The Beaver River offers canoeist and kayakers beaver sightings along the way. It is a fast flowing incredible canoe route winding through the trees.  For a one-hour kayak adventure, ride to the historic lighthouse near the Collingwood harbour. 
 
KITE BOARDING AND WAKEBOARDING
 
Watch the jumps, flips and turns of the great kite boarders at Sunset Point in Collingwood, a local past time and tradition for visitors.
 
WASAGA BEACH 
 
As close as you will come to the Bahamas in Ontario!   The longest freshwater beach in the world awaits you with 14 km of sandy beach, sparkling waters and glorious sand dunes and parklands.
