Fishing
The best time to
catch a few Brookies, Specs and browns will be early in the season and
early in the evening when there’s a hatch happening. There is also a
good population of rainbows here on the Beatty Saugeen. This
part of the stream is a sanctuary until June 1st so that’s
opening day instead of the normal last Saturday in April.
The fish tend to be
pan sized although at the cabin there is a brown in the 5 pound class
mounted on the wall. The quantity will depend on the weather and of
course the fisherman but there is no denying that a day wading the
stream in the open field and cedar bush can be it’s own reward under
the watchful eye of deer, turkey and a abundance of water fowl.
