Hank Williams
'LIVE' 1952
Saturday, March 1, 2008 - 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Location: The Opera House
Hank walks on stage to hear a DJ call him a golden oldie. He pulls
the plug from the wall, saying, "I ain't dead yet!" The band kicks into
"Settin the Woods on Fire" and the show is off! For two hours the
audience is treated to Hank Williams tunes and an intimate, revealing
evening with one of the legends of country music. Joe Matheson is an
accomplished actor and singer who starred as Hank Williams in The Show
He Never Gave. This fully scripted musical theatre piece is Joe's
personal tribute to the King of Country Music. It's not a true story,
but the stories are true. And if it aint exactly factual well, as Hank
would say, "What Momma dont know won't hurt'er!" Presented by the
Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation. Tickets $30

The Velveteen Rabbit
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Location: The Opera House
This classic childrens story brings an air of youth to the Meaford
Hall! The beautiful tale is a modern children's classic, in which a
stuffed toy rabbit learns what it means to be REAL. This splendid
dramatic adaptation portrays a young child's world of special toys.
"When a child loves you for a long time, not just to play with, but
really loves you, then you become REAL", explains the Skin Horse in the
story. This presentation, with its lovely masks, puppets and props is an
excellent introduction to the world of theatre. Presented by the Meaford
Hall & Culture Foundation. Area children will have opportunity to
participate in this production. Please call 519.538.0463 ext.1203.
